CDPA SPEARHEADS ONLINE CULTURAL COMPETITION 2021

  CapSU Dumarao Performing Arts, headed by their adviser Mrs. Erlyn F. Lauron, organized an Online Cultural Competition, last December 20-21, 2021. As the title of the event suggests, students were given the opportunity to showcase their skills in Storytelling, Spoken Poetry, Contemporary Dance, Street Dance, TikTok Dance, Guitar Solo, Logo Making, and Pop Solo. Each of the four departments has their own contestants for each category. Winners were decided through online votes and judges’ scores. The honorable judges for the competition are: Dr. Mark Nil Casaquite, Mr. Martin Fadrique, Mrs. Mary Loid I. Apin, Mr. Jayson Hapitan, and Mr. Christian Basco.             Libraries are storerooms of knowledge and a depository of learnings gathered throughout history, and yet because of the rise of technology and digital books, it is easy to think that it is a thing of the past and may soon cease to exist. Which may be farther from the truth – we hope. Giving indispensable sources of media to people in need of assistance, libraries are vast treasure troves that are widely underappreciated by most.             How can we say that a library is living up to its purpose? Its success can neither be measured as to how many people visit nor how physically attractive it is in the eyes of the public.
