CapSU Dumarao marks its 40th Foundation Anniversary


The Caravan

The celebration of 40th Foundation Anniversary of Capiz State University Dumaro Satellite College  kicked off, October 14, 2022, 7:00 am with the caravan from CapSU Dumarao going to Bry. Ongol bridge. Faculty, staff and students from four departments; Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Teacher Education Department, Criminology Department, and Agriculture Department wore designated color and waived their balloons , and flaglets as they traversed the route of the said caravan. Members of Philippine National Police and Emergency Response team of Dumarao also took part also in the caravan.

Thanksgiving Mass and Program for 40th Founding Anniversary

This year’s Foundation Anniversary which has the theme, “CapSU Dumarao in the New Normal Millieu: 40 Years of Grit and Service” was highlighted with the Thanksgiving Mass of Rev. Fr. Robel Gicole, University’s chaplain, and program for the 40th CapSU Dumarao foundation anniversary, awarding ceremony for faculty and staff, and Professional Regulation Commission Board passers. Held on same day, October 14, 2022, faculty and staff, students, alumni, guests, awardees and stake holders witnessed the said event physically at Miriam Santiago Hall of the College.

The program was made more special with the message of Atty, Mateo Hachuela, the newly seated municipal mayor of Dumarao, who was represented by SB Member Francis Dave Juanico.

“Continue to set your hearts afire with mission in educating our young to become professionals, and   I assured you all of my support as you continue your journey in the new normal milieu,” Atty Hachuela said in her speech.

Dr. Wennie F. Legario, VP for Administration and Finance delivered the message of Dr. Editha Alfon, University President, in her behalf, and Dr, Susan Dangan, VP for   Academic Affairs also graced the occasion.

Service awards were given to faculty members who rendered continuous and meritorious service in the University, three were from teacher education department, Prof Lourdes Dela Cruz for rendering 35 years, Prof. Elna Velarde, 15 years, and Prof. Mary Joy Silvino, 10 years of, for non-teaching personnel, Mr. Nelson Hijosa has been rendering for 20 years, Mr. Virgilo Tropico, and Mr. Benjamin David, 15 years, Mrs. Rocelyn Billones and Mrs. Lavilla Labanza, 10 years. Punctual awards were also given to teaching and non -teaching personnel; Dr. Ma. Jullie Lademora of teacher education department, Dr. Mario Lago, agriculture department, and Mrs. Rollen Ternura, Mr. Mansueto Agustin, and Ms. Regina Pachejo of criminology department, for teaching personnel, while Mr. Nelson Hijosa, Mr. Benjamin, David and Mr. Virgilio Tropico, non-teaching personnel, received the same awards.

Committed, hardworking, loyal – these adjectives describe this year’s awardees who have proven, once again, that they deserve the recognition given to them. Indeed, they symbolize grit and true service to the CapSU Dumarao and entire University thereby paying back those fruitful years of service they have rendered.

In addition to this year’s Foundation Anniversary Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC) passers in Licensure Examination for Teachers, Veterinarian Licensure Examination, Licensure Examination for Agriculturist and Criminology Licensure Examination were awarded certificate of recognition for bringing honor and prestige not only in college but to the entire University. The College through Office of the Students Services also recognized three Outstanding Students Organizations to wit, Supreme Students Council (SCC), Future Leaders of the Philippines (FLP) and Veterinary Medicine Student Association) (VMSA).

This year’s one-day celebration was a huge success with the cooperation of the  administration, faculty, students and facilitators in this every year CapSU Dumarao 's  favorite culture and tradition.

Booth Exhibits

The occasion become  more memorable, festive and alive, for the four departments of the College showcased their artistry skills through their artworks and outputs as wells crops and other materials align to their respective field in a booth exhibit.
