Since its first launch in 2012, One Billion Rising Campaign has maintained as one of the biggest mass action in human history. And this year, 2021, Capiz State University Dumarao Satellite College held its program as support to the campaign at Miriam Santiago Hall. The event was spearheaded by the Office of Gender and Development of the said institution. The campaign is a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet are and wilk be beaten or raped during her lifetime. Now, putting into consideration that the current global population is at 7 billion, the number sums up to more than one billion women and girls that are at risk of discrimination and violence.
