A NEW YEAR OF NEW BEGINNINGS
As cliché as it may sound, normally, at this time of year, everyone are concerned with figuring out what their New Year’s resolutions (that we probably won’t keep beyond the first week of January) would be. But as each and everyone of us knows, 2020 was not a normal year, and this is not a normal New Year’s Eve.
Maybe, rather than resolutions, this might be a good time to think about what we can look forward to in 2021. Some of these ideas might be more wishful thinking than others. But with several vaccines in sight and are already in production for mass distribution worldwide, 2021 is full of far more possibility than the preceding year (hopefully).
First off, it goes
without saying that it was a long and hard year for all of us, and we’ve had to
overcome a lot of challenges. This time last year, we as students were writing
our New Year’s Resolutions as part of our activities after the long holiday
break, I could’ve never imagined what the next several months would bring.
However, now that 2020 is behind us, it’s time to start looking ahead at 2021.
Keep reading to find out what we should be looking forward to in this year of
hope!
Hello, Vaccines!
Billions of COVID-19
vaccine doses have been purchased by some of the world’s most affected
locations like US, Canada, UK, and in some parts of Asia. Some countries have
even begun the first stages of the vaccine distributions. We’re hopeful that
once the vaccines have been distributed to the public, we will be one step
closer to making the spread of COVID-19 a thing of the past. However, it’s
clear that we still have some time before that happens.
More Changes to Education
Higher education has
had to adapt in many different ways over the last year and we suspect that this
is just the beginning of new changes. We anticipate more advances in the
technology that powers remote learning, and we also anticipate that
institutions will continue to make accommodations for applicants.
Being Able to Hangout with Friends Again!
We aren’t 100% sure if
we’ll get to do this one but we sure are hopeful because it’s been far too
long. The laughters, the joy of just being together with your friends hanging
out in the sidewalk, restaurant, or in the mall is irreplaceable. Who isn’t
excited to experience that again? Just imagine how great those hugs will be!
A Year of New Beginnings and Connections
The pandemic and all
the other tragic happenings that stemmed from the previous years have given us
major problems and has changed our ways from easy to complex. But may these
things also remind us of what we lack – connection with our fellow mankind.
HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM US HERE IN SALINGSING
