Pescadera, Lesa Speaks on Leadership and Good Governance
The first leg of the Capiz State University Federation Supreme Student Council's program YouthSpeak: The CapSU Student Leaders' Webinar Series took place last April 28, 2021 via Facebook Live. Students, mainly from different satellite colleges of CapSU, attended the virtual program.
To deliver the discussions on leaderahip and good governance, two brilliant leaders were invited. The first speaker was Joy Jonathan Pescadera, Jr., the SK Federation Vice President of Iloilo City, and the second speaker was Fale Andrew Lesa, a diplomat from New Zealand.
"Leadership is action, not position. It is the capacity to translate vision into reality", Pescadera in his talk about what it really means to be a leader. He also discusses the responsibilities of leaders and importance of leadership in this times of uncertainty.
Lesa, in one of his lessons, tackled the agendas that leaders should focus on for the university, the community, the business, and the environment. "Nearly every great leader and social movement starts on campus. Do not squander the opportunity", said Lesa.
The program is expected to resume on May 12, 2021, this time focusing on public health and drug information as the topic for its second session. YouthSpeak is said to have four sessions set for different dates.
