Today's activity marked an important event for gender equality and inclusivity as we celebrated National Women's Month 2023. The event took place at Mirriam Hall of Capiz State University-Dumarao Satellite College, where everyone witnessed impressive performances and activities that genuinely showcased the spirit of empowerment among women.
Dr. Marie Jean P. Penson, the Satellite College Director, emphasized in her opening remarks the importance of empowering women and promoting gender equality in all aspects of society. Her words set the tone for the rest of the event, inspiring attendees to celebrate the power of women and their contributions to the community.
During her speech, Mrs. Aizel Coroz, the Gender and Development Chairperson, highlighted the rationale behind the event, emphasizing the need to promote gender equality and inclusivity in all aspects of society. She stressed further empowering women and supporting them to achieve equal rights and opportunities.
Following this, Mrs. Arlyn Laguda, the Socio-Cultural Chairperson, read the mechanics of the various activities for the rest of the month, providing attendees with an overview of what to expect. The enthusiastic crowd eagerly awaited the start of the Zumba dance competition and other activities.
The morning activity started with a highly energetic Zumba dance competition that the Teacher Education Department won. The Juana Singsong-making contest followed, with the Agriculture Department impressing the audience with her fantastic performance.
The day's festivities culminated with powerful closing remarks from Prof. Jezel Apocero, the OSA Chairperson. She thanked everyone who participated in the event and urged them to continue the fight for gender equality and inclusivity in their communities. The community dance performance was the perfect ending to the morning activities, symbolizing unity and inclusivity at the heart of the event.
In the afternoon, every department watched a film, showcasing the inspiring stories of the Women of Malolos, and Wonder Woman, highlighting their struggles and successes in the battle for gender equality and equal opportunities.
To end the day, a pampering session was organized for faculty and staff, which included various services such as manicures, pedicures, and full body massages.
Also, we would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of Mrs. Aizel Coroz, the Gender and Development Chairperson, whose eagerness and efforts made this event a resounding success. It was indeed a wonderful day that will be long remembered.
We encourage all Capsunians to relax and look forward to next week's continuation of this event on March 29, 2023, with even more exciting activities and opportunities for participation.
As we conclude this day's activities, let us continue to carry the spirit of empowerment and inclusivity in our hearts and minds. Join us in celebrating National Women's Month and beyond as we break barriers and pave the way for a more inclusive and equal society in Capsu-Dumarao. Let's promote gender equality and celebrate diversity together! Remember, as we uplift women, we uplift society as a whole. Together, we can make a difference.
