  SSC Conducts Online Year-End Activity   December 15, 2020 – The Supreme Studuent Council of CapSU Dumarao Satellite College organized a Year-End Activity online with the theme “ending the year with hope amidst the chaos.” The objective of the activity was to promote participation which signifies happiness, hope and enhance students’ skills and abilities; most of all to feel the spirit of Christmas despite the pandemic. This activity, composed by various contests such as Poster Making, TikTok Dance Challenge, Parol Making Contest and Video Making Presentation. The week-long event ended on December 21, 2020, whereas the SSC Officers posted the winners in their official Facebook page. Super Typhoon Rolly Hits Phil

 Hundreds of thousands of people were evacuated as Typhoon Rolly, the Philippines’ 18th and the world’s strongest so far this year, swept the country, particularly south of the main island Luzon, over the weekend. Typhoon Goni, known in the Philippines as Super Typhoon Rolly, was an exceptionally powerful tropical cyclone that made landfall as a Category 5–equivalent super typhoon on Catanduanes in the Philippines and became the strongest landfalling tropical cyclone on record by 1-minute winds, eclipsing the previous record held by Haiyan and Meranti. The nineteenth named storm, ninth typhoon, and second super typhoon of the 2020 Pacific typhoon season, Goni originated as a tropical depression south of Guam on October 26. It was then named as Tropical Storm Goni on October 27. On the next day, Goni explosively intensified over the Philippine Sea, becoming a Category 5–equivalent super typhoon on October 30. COVID-19 Update as of October 13, 2020

The confirmed cases of people affected by the disease in the country now sits at 344, 713, with 55% of it are male. The most affected age ranges from 20-29 years old (27%) and 30-39 years old (24%). Out of the total number of cases, unfortunately, there are 6, 372 confirmed deaths. Most of the deaths came from NCR, Central Visayas , CALABARZON and Western Visayas, with NCR having the largest number of deaths (48%), and largest increase in new deaths at that. According to a research group, there are more than 100 cases per day in the country. The conduct of COVID-19 vaccine phase-3 clinical trials are now being geared up by the government and public transportation sectors are now  expected to reopen in areas under general community quarantine.

The government has announced lock-down of Metro Manila, followed by the entire Luzon island and is mulling over more localised lock-downs. The Philippines government declared a state of calamity in the country for six months on 17 March. The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. On 30 January 2020, the Philippine Department of Health reported the first case of COVID-19 in the country with a 38-year-old female Chinese national. On 7 March, the first local transmission of COVID-19 was confirmed. New Learning Strategies for S.Y. 2020-2021

 As face-to-face teaching delivery as of the moment is not allowed due to the novel corona virus, Department of Education Secretary Leonora Briones proposed the Blended and Distant Learning for school year 2020-2021, which has gotten a go signal from President Rodrigo Duterte. Briones, on her talk during the (IATF-EID) meeting, clarified and assured that she still stands on the matter of health and the safety of the learners as well as the school faculties. “We can provide learning opportunities to our learners without them having to go to school, and this we can do through what is described as ‘blended and distant’ learning”, Briones stated. CapSU Dumarao Conducts Community Extension Service Program by: Irel Hallarsis Capiz State University Dumarao Satellite College conducted a two-day Livelihood Disaster Preparedness Training and Literacy last November 7-8, 2019, Brgy. Codingle Dumarao, Capiz headed by Dr. Nelinda V. Duero, Chairman of Extension Services. The program was attended by the Brgy. Codingle Officials, residents and several outsiders. On the first day of the program, November 7,2020, the faculties of CapSU Dumarao conducted a symposium and discussed several topics such as Gender and Development, Common Poultry Diseases and Management, Poultry Production Management, and Disaster Preparedness and Literacy. CapSU Dumarao Conducts Mandatory Drug Testing Orientation By: Lady Mae Olmedo As a support on President Duterte’s War on Drugs and CHED Memorandum Order No. 18 series of 2018 or the implementing guidelines for the Conduct of Drug Testing of students in all Higher Education Institutions, Capiz State University’s OSA conducts a mandatory Drug Testing Orientation in all campuses of CapSU. Aimed to inform the students and faculty, University OSA Director Dr. Ian B. Arcega gave the substantial  mechanics of how Mandatory Drug Testing works. The orientation was held last March 3, 2020 at Miriam Santiago Hall, Capiz State University Dumarao Satellite College. PHACC Turns Over Medical Equipment By: Bhea Marie Gaspar and Reynard Gonzales To contribute amount of help to College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) students of Capiz State University (CapSU) Dumarao, both public and private hospitals in the Province of Capiz, donated medical equipment, Nov. 14, 2019. The donors were among the Philippine Pharmacists Association Capiz Chapter (PHACC) including different hospitals such as Dumarao Medicare, Mambusao District Hospital, Senator Gerardo M.
